Somewhere Between Earth and Heaven
I called my recent show at the Niagara Artists Centre “Angels and Easter Eggs” because every picture in it showed either an egg or an angel and I explained that I had childhood associations with both.
There are still some circles and spheres and some angels in this show at Arts Place, but the circles and spheres tend to be mandalas as religious symbols, or else containers for vegetation.
I go all the way from somewhat abstract plant life through what I call spirit portraits to angels and so I call the show “Somewhere Between Earth and Heaven.” I don’t really see the difference between the spirits that surround us in nature and those which may be floating around us on an upper plane. All is spirit and all is nature.
